Save on Magazine Subscription Renewals
A big thanks to Sound Money Tips for the great post on Saving when renewing your magazine subscriptions.
Before you send in the renewal notice, take a quick peak at the discount insert cards inside the magazine. These cards are aimed at people who don’t yet have subscriptions to the magazine and usually offer deep discounts off the cover price — so deep that they are usually much better than the discount renewal price you get sent in the mail.
What an excellent tip! I honestly don’t believe I have ever compared the two to see if one was lesser than the other. I normally just send in the renewal. Be sure that I will check it from now on though. Thanks again!
Note: The comments for the above article also have several excellent links and ideas. Appearantly Ebay is a great place to pick up mag subscriptions as well.

I don’t really think this is good advice. Take a look at my research:

The best thing I have found is to use a site like ValueMags.com and to go through ebates, so you get a really low price and also 25% of the cost back. Upromise has a similar rebate program.
