A Penny Saved

lamoneyguy at It’s Just Money has begun doing a Random Blog Sunday post and I thought it was an excellent idea. I’m going to “borrow” his idea and begin doing the same thing. And what better way to start it up than to have the first review be for It’s Just Money. I’ll begin with some sort of randomized review after that next sunday. I also will be assembling some sort of ranking system based on a few criteria. It may change over the first few weeks, but I’ve added a little taste of it to the end of this post.
It’s Just money is run by LA Money Guy. A self proclaimed 30 something with loads of financial service experience, he seems to have run the gamut in personal and professional experience and it shows in his posts. He posts several times a day on average. Most of his posts seem to lean a little more toward true finanacial advice rather than the personal experience sharing that is seen on most pf blogs. This very well could be a result of his professional experience. It’s Just Money is a very well written and professional toned pf blog.

It’s just money ranks:

On topic: 4.5 out of 5 (how often the post is finance related)
Personal/Professional ratio: 1/4 (each side has a possiblity of 5 so 1/4 is 1 part personal and 4 parts professional)

Blog design: 3 out of 5 (Is the site easy on the eyes? This is of course completely relative to my tastes.)

Length of posts: 3.5 (1 being barely a link, and 5 being a mini novel and based on perceived averages)

Frequency of posts: 5 out of 5 (1=seldom, 5=several a day)

Overall: 4.99 out of 6 ((On Topic * 5) + (Blog design * 2) + (Length of Posts / 2.5) + (Frequency of posts)) / 7
