Continuing on with the Sunday Random Blog Review we’re taking a look at Fat Kitty this week. You can see the Sunday random blog review by LAMoneyGuy that started this series here.

Fat Kitty celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary last month. While the blog seems to have started off strong a year ago, it’s reduced itself down to a link dump as of late. As of the writing of this post, the last post on Fat Kitty was on March, 30 2005. When there are non-linkdump posts, EC seems to have intelligent thoughts on money and finance, but obviously things have gotten a little busy for EC or EC has gotten bored with the blog. I find it hard to review a blog that hasn’t had more than one non-linkdump post in the last two months.

On topic: 3.0 out of 5 (how often the post is finance related)
Personal/Professional ratio: 1/4 (each side has a possiblity of 5 so 1/4 is 1 part personal and 4 parts professional)

Blog design: 1.5 out of 5 (Is the site easy on the eyes? This is of course completely relative to my tastes.)

Length of posts: 1 (1 being barely a link, and 5 being a mini novel and based on perceived averages)

Frequency of posts: 1 out of 5 (1=seldom, 5=several a day)

Overall: 2.71 out of 6 ((On Topic * 5) + (Blog design * 2) + (Length of Posts / 2.5) + (Frequency of posts)) / 7
