Changes in the land of Penny Saved

Hello all, just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.  I’m Leroy Brown, the new owner of Penny Saved.  You can also find me at Green Llama, which ranges in topic from making money online, all the way to random crap.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.  Yes, this site has changed ownership, but the mission hasn’t changed.  I will be making some visual / performance tweaks to the site.  I’m an anti-clutter nut, so I’ll be streamlining the look ( in fact, I’ve already begun, in case you weren’t paying attention ).  Currently I’m in the process of updating the theme so that there are less “extras” to distract from the content.  The focus of this site is personal finance, and I want to make sure that it remains the focus.

With regards to advertising, yes, I’ll be making some changes.  I can hear the collective groaning already.  No worries, changes in advertising doesn’t automatically mean *more* advertising.  In fact, there will likely be fewer ads overall once my remodeling is complete.  Too many ads simply makes the site look cluttered, and remember, I hate clutter.  On a side note, if there is a particular advertising method that I use, and you simply despise, please let me know.  My intent is to make sure that the ads don’t get in the way of the user experience here.  I’d rather lose a few dollars in ad revenue than alienate my newfound readers.

Also, if you entered into some sort of advertising / linking agreement with the previous owner, and your ad / link is gone, please contact me immediately.  It is my intention to fully honor all agreements that were made prior to my ownership of the site.

The housecleaning should be finished within the next couple days, and you can look forward to more personal finance articles - written by yours truly.  Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for great things to come.

 **Update**

Heh, looks like I spoke to soon.  I broke the layout, at least for IE7.  I reverted to the old theme for now, at least until my CSS / HTML skills get everything to play nicely again.

**Update 2 **

So, it turns out that the formatting issue were due to some wonky code that popped up in one of the older posts.  Got that cleared up, and it looks like everything works the way it’s supposed to.  If something looks goofy, please contact me so I can fix it ASAP.
