Sometimes Shared Is Better

by sally on February 12, 2008

I’m hungry. I can’t wait to go home, boil up a nice pot of pasta, and scoop a big mound of it into an over-sized ceramic mug. I’ll add cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, and oil and vinegar, stirring it so that cheese gets pleasantly melty, then sit and my desk and pop open my webcomic bookmarks in Firefox. But alas, it was snowy this morning and it’s a Tuesday. Fail to see how my hunger and that last sentence are connected? Well, I’ll explain.

My roommate drives me to work on mornings when road conditions are hazardous – if schools in our county are closed or on a two-hour delay due to the weather, that’s a good indication that he’s probably driving. This is because he has eight years of driving experience and I have about three months. And it’s Tuesday, so that means he’s in a meeting with his adviser until around 5:30, which means he wouldn’t be here to pick me up until around 6:00.

Sometimes sharing a car has its drawbacks.

But the snow is falling hard and the roads are covered in three inches of powder. I’m glad he’s driving. :)
