Sunday Thought 17

Greed. It can happen to all of us at one time or another. I want more! I want the best! Soon money and things become the objects of devotion and commitment. Greed charms us all the while it slowly destroys us and those around us. What starts out as a healthy commitment to budgeting and saving soon turns to hoarding. We must always be on our guard against greed.

And Jesus said to them “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions” (Bible, Luke 12:15).
