Sunday Thought 18

It’s fun every now and then to indulge in something we enjoy. Maybe it’s a special food we enjoy, a weekend away, a new “toy” for our hobby. But when an occasional indulgence turns instead to an indulgent lifestyle, things go awry. When all we can think about or plan for is our desires, our happiness, then we are going down the wrong path in life. In reality, when we are never willing to say no to ourselves and our desires, than we have traded in financial freedom for bondage. Life should never be “all about me”.

He who loves pleasure will become a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not become rich (Bible, Proverbs 21:17).

Very true, things are more enjoyable if you don’t have to worry about how you are going to pay for them.
