Sunday Thought 43

Some people give it their best, day in and day out, whatever the activity is. Others are willing to just “get by.” When it comes to our employment, laziness is wrong. It is wrong to our employer, wrong to our co-workers, to ourselves and to our families.
People like to say a fair wage for a fair day, but employers could also claim that they would like a fair day for a fair wage! We cheat our employers when we do not put in a good day of work. We also hurt our co-workers, who must pick up the slack. And in the long run we hurt ourselves and our families – missed opportunities for promotion or pay increases, lost chances for gaining skills, etc.
Whether anyone notices or not, diligence is always rewarded, and laziness will be punished.
Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich–Proverbs 10:4
The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway–Proverbs 15:19
