Wages. In this economy it is a hot topic. People who are unemployed would love to earn a wage, others who are employed would like more hours to make ends meet. Most of us would love to get a raise. Can we learn to be content with where we are right now financially? It is so easy for us to be discontent, to look at someone else and be envious.
And what about those who work for us? Whether they are employees, or the young man who mows the lawn or waters our plants when we are away. Do we give them a fair wage? Are we taking care of them and their financial needs? We need to be as concerned that we are paying a fair wage as we are in wanting to receive a fair wage.
May thd Lord reward your work, and your wages be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge. Ruth 2:12
Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness and his upper rooms without justice, who uses his neighbor’s services without pay and does not give him his wages. Jeremiah 52:34
