When some of us think of paradise, we think of tropical beaches or mountain resorts. Some think about a place long ago called the garden of Eden. When we think of that place we usually think of beautiful gardens, fruit trees (including that bad one!), flowing streams. We don’t usually think of money or gold. However in Genesis 2:12, when describing this paradise, it mentions that the gold of that land was good, along with other precious jewels.
Even “from the beginning” there was a place for gold and money. The key, both then and now, is to keep it in its proper place. Although we are consumers, we should not let things consume us.
And that is todays Sunday Thought.
