Sunday Thought 67

Stuff happens. Sometimes its things beyond our control. But it is possible to thrive and succeed where we are. A man named Joseph (Genesis chapters 39-41) provides us an example of a man of integrity and uprightness – even in difficult times.

First, he is sold into slavery by his brothers. But while a slave he worked hard and prospered, and so did his master – so Joseph was promoted and became a personal servant to the master and overseer of all that his master owned.

Then through false accusations, he was put in jail. But while in jail he worked hard and soon the jailer put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners.

Then Joseph, after a long wait, was remembered – and after interpreting dreams for the king, he was promoted to be second in command, beneath only Pharaoh himself.

Hard work.  Integrity. Uprightness. God’s Faithfulness. Together, no matter what situation or hardship we face, no matter what stuff happens in our life, we need to be found faithful, and then trust in Him who is always faithful.
