Even when we need it, most of us are reluctant to ask for help. Whether it’s pride, or reluctance to bother people, or we are just shy, asking for help is hard to do sometimes. In Luke chapter 5 a man with leprosy overcame his reluctance and asked Jesus “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus answered him “I am willing.”
Jesus wanted to help him, He just needed to be asked. And the same is true for a lot of our friends and family. They are willing to help, they just need to be asked. In fact, other people are more willing to help than we are to ask! Maybe we need help with our finances, or a home project, or maybe we need help with the kids, whatever – all of us at times need a little (or a lot) of extra help. Let’s not be afraid to ask for help when we need it.
