New Credit Scoring System

The big three credit reporting agencies agreed to implement a unified credit scoring system today.

Dubbed “VantageScore”, it should start being used later this year.  The new system has 5 tiers and a letter grade that is associated with each ranging from A at the top down to F at the bottom.  Like often happens E got left out.

Under the new system, the scores shouldn’t have as much variation and the only real difference will be in what information each of the credit bureau’s has on record.  Each keeps it’s own database of your information, and as always some variation occurs.

It may be a smart move to wait until later this year to order your yearly free credit report to see if any of the changes have made a difference to your reports.

Thansk to My Financial Journey for pointing this out.

Forbes lists Billionaires

Forbes released the list of the worlds billionaires today. It’s only 746 people long. Of course Bill Gates tops the list once again at 50 billion but he’s getting a little pressure from Warren Buffet. Another odd bit I noticed are numbers 17, 19, 20, and 21. Notice anything similar about those? Yep, they are all heirs to the Walmart fortune. Another odd note that was pointed out to me by Brady is the fact that Bill Gates is the most giving person in the US while Warren Buffet does not give any of his money to charity. I’m not sure what it is that he’s saving for.

Imagine how many people that could be made comfortable if either of these guys just gave one million away at $100,000 to each person. I could be completely debt free and begin making some money. Imagine…
