A Penny Saved

Well, I’m not sure if anyone would have noticed if I hadn’t said anything, but I figured it was about time for A Penny Saved to move on up to it’s own domain. I’ve been trying to find one that is fitting as many of the obvious like apennysaved.com have been taken for a while.

What I did decide on is http://www.penny-saved.com. I’m happy with it and don’t think I’ll miss the A at the beginning.

If you have a link to A Penny Saved, please change it. The old one should still work, but I’d really appreciate the extra boost to the new domain. Also, if you see any thing that is still broken (like the header that was missing for a while), please let me know in the comments here or by using the contact form.

I’ve recently begun testing Text-Link-Ads here on A penny saved and on my main site, Thatedeguy. If anybody would like to advertise on either site, you can follow my affiliate link through to sign up as a advertiser and buy ads on thousands of websites including my own.

If you run a site, I’ve found that TLA performs better than Adsense. Of course the traffic I get here doesn’t exactly make for a high click through rate on adsense so that could account for some of that. TLA is certainly a great way to diversify income though.

A Penny Saved… went through a bit of a change this afternoon and finally got the subdomain redirect to work completely. Unfortunately, the side effect of this is that the some of the feed and permalinks that already existed for A Penny Saved… have become invalid. So, if you have a link to either a feed for A penny saved… or a link to one of A penny saved…’s articles you’ll have to do a little tweaking to make it work properly.

The feed URL should be http://money.thatedeguy.com/feed/

The domain portion of any link should be http://money.thatedeguy.com/

The old links have a domain of http://www.thatedeguy.com/money/

and a feed address of http://www.thatedeguy.com/money/feed/

Don’t worry too much, if the wrong links persist they go directly to my main page at http://www.thatedeguy.com and there is always some interesting reading there to peruse.
